Personal/Business – Motor Insurance Claim
Step 1 : In the event of an accident in Singapore
- Report non-injury accident at any of our authorised workshop with your vehicle within 24 hours from the time of accident.
- Call any of the authorised workshops for towing assistance if necessary, towing service is ONLY applicable for Insured with :
(a) Comprehensive Cover
(b) Third party cover, who is NOT at fault in the accident
** Avoid all unauthorised tow-truck operators or repair workshops
- When the accident involves a third party, where possible, obtain the “third party’s particulars” comprising the following:
- Vehicle number
- Name/NRIC no./address/contact no. of driver
- Insurance company of the third-party vehicle
- Name/NRIC no./address/contact No. of witness and witness statement, if available
- Photographic images revealing damage to own vehicle and that of third party
- Photographic images of the accident scene, where available
*Do not admit liability, make an offer/settlement/promise with any third party(ies) on behalf of the insurer
Step 2 : Accident Reporting
- You need to report all accidents to the insurer’ appointed workshops within 24 hours immediately after the accident or latest by the next working day.
This is required in all cases, whether or not your vehicle has suffered any visible damage and whether or not you intend to claim against your own policy or any other party. - Insured is to have the following documents ready when reporting at the authorised reporting centres:
(a) Certificate of Insurance
(b) Driver’s licence of the driver involved in the accident
(c) Company’s stamp for commercial vehicles
- Duly complete the Singapore Accident Statement Form, in which a clear sketch of the accident is to be provided at the authorised workshops
Step 3 : File a Traffic Police Report
You are required to lodge a police report if the accident involves:
A. Injury to any parties
B. Government vehicle or government property
C. Foreign vehicle
D. Pedestrian or cyclist
E. “Hit-and-run” case
F. Accident occurred out of Singapore (Police report must be done before leaving the foreign country)
Personal – Travel Insurance Claim
Step 1 : Collect Information
- Where the loss or damage occurs in the custody of an airline/cruise/train/bus operator, inform them and request for a Property Loss/Damage Irregularity Report.
- Take photographs of the damaged items and retain the items for our inspection, if applicable.
- Make a police report within 24 hours at the place of loss and request for a copy of the report for your claim submission.
- In cases involving damage to property or bodily injury of a third party:
- note down the particulars of the third party
- obtain the details of the nature and extent of claim
- do not admit liability, settle or negotiate settlement without our prior approval
- immediately inform us when you receive any letter of demand, Writ of Summons, etc from the third party

Personal – Maid Insurance Claim
Step 1 : Download the claim form and submit the necessary documents
- You may download a copy of the claim form or request for the form to be sent to you.
- You should request the attending doctor to complete the “Medical Report” section of the claim form if you are submitting a claim for medical expenses. Please note that claimants are required to bear the fee for obtaining the report.
- Complete the claim form and submit it with all the necessary supporting documents to us

Personal – Home Insurance Claim
Step 1 : Mitigate Loss & Collect Information
- Take all necessary measures and steps to mitigate any loss and/or damage.
- Take photographs of the damaged items and retain the items for the insurers’ inspection.
– Do not dispose off the damaged items until insurer’s approval.
– Immediately make a police report and co-operate with insurer in securing the conviction of the offender if loss/damage is caused by housebreaking, theft, malicious damage, vandalism or other criminal acts
Assist and cooperate with the loss adjuster who may be sent to assess the situation.
- In cases involving damage to property or bodily injury of a third party:
- note down the particulars of the third party
- obtain the details of the nature and extent of claim
- do not admit liability, settle or negotiate settlement without the insurers’ prior approval
- immediately inform us when you receive any letter of demand, Writ of Summons, etc. from the third party

Business – Work Injury Compensation Claim
Step 1 : Notify Relevant Parties
- Report to the Ministry of Manpower via website: www.mom.gov.sg/iReport within 10 days of occurrence of the accident if:
- it results in death of an employee
- employee is unfit for work for more than 3 days
- employee is hospitalised for at least 24 hours
- employee contracts an occupational disease and has receipt of the written diagnosis from a medical practitioner.
Step 2 : Download the claim form and submit the necessary documents
- Complete the Claim Form, duly stamped and signed by Company / Insured, together with I-Report (MOM). Other documents required will be as follow:
- Work Permit / Identity Card of the injured worker
- Original medical bills and receipts / Original Medical Certificates
- Inpatient Discharge Summary
- Pay slips for the injured worker for the past 12 months before the date of accident
- Copy of Contract Agreement entered between the main contractor and sub-contractor (for project cases)
- Copy of main contractor’s Work Injury Compensation Policy and Name of Insurer
- Advise the total number of working days per week for injured worker
- Confirm date injured worker returned to work

Step 1 : Collect Information

- Assist and cooperate with the loss adjuster who may be sent to assess the situation.
- In cases involving damage to property or bodily injury of a third party:

- immediately inform us when you receive any letter of demand, Writ of Summons, etc. from the third party.

- Police report, if available/applicable
- Witness statements, if available/applicable
- All third party correspondence, such as letter of demand or Writ of Summons
- Photographic evidence and/or any other evidence which may assist in the defense of the claim

Business – Commercial Property/ Fire Claim

- Complete the Claim Form, duly stamped and signed by Company / Insured
- Submit the following documents:
- Photographs of damaged items
- Quotations for repairing / replacing damaged items, or purchase invoice of damaged items
- A copy of police report in respect of the stolen items, including money
- Documentary proof of loss (including monetary loss) such as petty cash vouchers, accounts statement, etc.
- Any other documents that will help support the claim

Business – Marine Cargo Claim
Step 1 : Notify Relevant Parties and Collect Information
- Immediately notify carriers and/or other parties responsible for the loss and/or damage and invite them for a joint survey
- Do not accept delivery of goods against a clean receipt at any sign of loss and/or damage
- Take necessary steps to minimise further loss or damage to the goods.
- Assist and cooperate with the insurers’ appointed surveyors during the course of their survey.
Step 2 : Download the claim form and submit the necessary documents
- File a claim in writing to the carriers, forwarders, bailees or other concerned parties for any missing or damaged packages
- Provide the following documents without delay:
- Original policy or certificate of insurance
- Original or copy of the shipping invoices, together with shipping specification and/or weight notes
- Original bill of lading and/or other contract of carriage
- Survey report or other documentary evidence to show the extent of the loss or damage
- Loading account and weight notes at final destination
- Correspondence exchanged with the Carriers and other Parties regarding their liability for the loss or damage
